Workshops
In addition to the club nights we run occasional workshops for our members. When they run they are on a second Thursday of a month between 7.30 - 9.30 pm These are held in the community room within the TESCO Gatwick store. The workshops are run by skilled members within our club. Whether a newcomer to flower arranging who wants to understand the basics or someone with more advanced skills looking to try out a new technique we can offer workshops designed around your interests.
Recent workshops have included:
- Triangular, horizontal and vertical designs, giving guidance on different flower forms, colour choice and visual balance.
- Leaf manipulation techniques (weaving and plaiting)
- Covering spheres with stachys leaves
- Making buttonholes for weddings.
- Christmas door wreaths
For the more advanced we have one on interpretation of a show schedule and judging.
We do not run accredited courses but depending on demand we can use the workshop evenings to cover what our members request. Pre-booking is essential for the workshops and can be done in advance at the monthly club night.
